    Lets just say the number is equal to x.

    -1 (2x+3) = 2 * (-4x-3)

    Distribute on both sides

    -2x-3=-8x-6

    Add 3 to both sides

    -2x=-8x-6

    Add 8x to boths sides

    6x=-6

    Divide Both Sides by - 1

    x=-1

    The numbers is - 1.
