Leona places a cone with a volume of 512 cm3 into a rectangular fish tank that has two square faces, each with sides measuring 20cm, and three rectangular each that are 49cm long and 20cm wide. How much of the total volume of the fish take is left to be filled with water?

    Volume of the cone, V = 512 cm³

    Length of the rectangular tank = 49 cm

    Width = 20 cm

    height of the tank = 20 cm

    Volume of the tank = l b h

    = 49 x 20 x 20 = 19600 cm³

    Volume left for fish when a cone is placed

    = 19600 - 512

    = 19,088 cm³
