A florist has 25 flower arrangements to sell. The amount of money the florist makes for selling x flower arrangements is represented by a function.

f (x) = 15x

What is the practical domain of the function?

    A florist has 25 flower arrangements to sell. Practical domain of f (x) = { x : x > 0 and x < = 25}.

    Solution:

    Number of arrangements of flower to sell = 25

    Amount of money generated by selling flower = 15x where x represents flower arrangements.

    So x can have possible values of 1 to 25

    "x" cannot be zero or negative as it make no sense of counting flower arrangements as 0 or negative.

    So practical value of x that is practical domain of f (x) = 15x is x = { 1, 2, 3,4 ... 25 }

    Or domain of f (x) = { x : x > 0 and x < = 25}
