The slope of the line whose equation is x + 2y = 3 is - 1/2 - 1 - 2

    x + 2y = 3

    2y = - x + 3

    y = - 1/2x + 3/2

    y = mx + b, slope = m

    so equation above y = - 1/2x + 3/2, slope m = - 1/2
