    2x + - 7 + 8 = - x+16

    2x + 1 = - x + 16

    2x + 1 - 1 = - x + 16 - 1

    2x+x = - x + x + 15

    3x = 15

    3x/3 = 15/3

    x = 5

    2 (5) + - 7 + 8 = - 5+16

    10 + - 7+8 = 11

    11=11
