    The solution to f (x) = g (x) is x = - 1

    Solution:

    Given that,

    f (x) = - 2x + 2

    g (x) = 4x + 8

    Solve the equation f (x) = g (x)

    -2x + 2 = 4x + 8

    Combine the like terms

    Keep the variable "x" terms in one side and move constants to other side

    4x + 2x = 2 - 8

    6x = - 6

    Divide both sides by 6

    x = - 1

    Thus solution to f (x) = g (x) is x = - 1
