let

x be the length of the shorter tree

y is the length of the longer tree

the dollar tree is 1 foot shorter than five times the height of the smaller tree.

Y - 1 = 5x

X + y = 60

Solving the two equation simultaneously

X = 9.8 ft

Y = 51.2 ft
