    132/5 = 26.4 miles per gallon

    he has 3 gallons already ... 3 (26.4) = 79.2 ... those 3 gallons will take him 79.2 miles.

    300 - 79.2 = 220.8 ... thats how many miles he has left to go

    220.8 / 26.4 = 8.36 ... so he needs 8.36 gallons of gas <==
