6x + 4y = 12 ... subtract 6x from both sides
4y = - 6x + 12 ... divide both sides by 4
(4/4) y = (-6/4) x + 12/4 ... reduce
y = - 3/2x + 4 < = = y = mx + b

No. 6x+4y=12 in linear equation form is
y = - 3/2x + 3 not 4 because 12 divided by 4 is 3.
