    We are given that

    Shopkeeper has six coins

total number of coins = 6

    we know that

there are four types of coins

    (1) cents

    1 cent = 1 cent

    (2) nickels

    1 nickel = 5 cents

    (3) dimes

    1 dimes = 10 cents

    (4) quarters

    1 quarter = 25 cents

so, we can use trial and error method

Since, nickels, dimes and quarter are multiple of 5

    and there 38 cents

so, three coins must be cent

number of cent coins = 3

so, the remaining cent = 38-3=35

so, possible coins can be 1 quarter and 2 nickels

    1 quarter + 2 nickels = 25+2 (5) = 35

    so, coins were

    Number of cents = 3

    Number of nickels = 2

    Number of dimes = 0

    Number of quarter = 1 ... Answer
