Randomly selected statistics students of the author participated in an experiment to test their ability to determine when 60 seconds had passed. Forty students yielded a sample mean of 58.3 seconds. Assume that б = 9.5 seconds. Construct a 95% confidence interval of the population mean of all statistics students.

    The answer would be: We are 95% confident that the interval from 55.4 seconds to 61.2 seconds actually does contain the true value of μ.
