    - Using substitution means you are going to solve one equation for one variable and substitute with its value in the other equation in order to get also an equation with one variable.

    7x-y=2 >>> y = 7x - 2

    substitute with this into the second equation (3y-2x=13):

    3 (7x - 2) - 2x = 13

    Simplify:

    21x - 6 - 2x = 13

    Combine like terms:

    19x = 13+6 = 19

    19x = 19

    x = 1

    Now, plug in (x=1) into any given equation:

    7 (1) - y=2

    7 - y = 2

    y = 5

    y = 7-2 = 5

    Your values of x and y are 1 and 5, respectively.
