First find out how much she spent on the fabric. That's 12.5 yards times 4.50 a yard which is $56.25. Now figure out how many beds she can make with 12.5 yards if each bed uses 2.5 yards of fabric by dividing 12.5 by 2.5 to get 5 beds. She can make 5 beds for $56.25. If she sells each of those 5 beds for $17.50 each, she makes 5 times $17.50 which is $87.50. If she spent $56.25, subtract that from what she makes: 87.50 - 56.25 = 31.25
