The scale of a map says 4 cm represents 5 km. What distance on the map in cm represents an actual distance of 4 km

    4cm : 5km

    xcm : 4km

    Cross multiply.

    4 * 4 = 16

    5 * x = 5x

    5x = 16

    x = 16/5

    x = 3.2km

    3.2km : 4km
