    To solve this we need to form an equation, using L for length and W for width

    Perimeter=2L+2W

    68=2L+2W

    Because the length is 8cm more than the width we can say it is W+8.

    68=2 (W+8) + 2W

    68=2W+16+2W

    68=4W+16

    52=4W

    W=13cm

    L = (13+8) = 21cm
