Let x = flight 1 and y=flight 2

x=4y+5 (5 more than 4 times the second flight)

y=y

x+y=365, replace x with 4y+5

4y+5+y=365, combine like terms

5y+5=365

5y+5-5=365-5

5y=360

5y/5=360/5

y=72

x=293

y=72

293+72=365

flight 2 had 72 people
