Lee baked 60 cookies. He gave some to a neighbor and ate 50% of the remaining cookies. He had 12 cookies left. What percentage of the cookies did he give to the neighbor?

    If he ate half of the remaining cookies, it means that he had double. Double of 12 is 24. This means that he kept 24 cookies. 60-24 = 36, which is the amount of cookies he gave to his neighbor.
