This question tests your ability to calculate percentages of numbers.

    60% of 60 = 36

To get this answer you can either do this:

    60 x 0.60 = 36

60 is the number given, and 0.60 is equal to 60% so multiplying them gives the answer.

    You can also do this:

    60 x 60 / 100 = 36

    60 x 60 = 3600, divided by 100 gives 36.

Next you need to calculate 25% of 60

25% is equal to 1/4 so that means you can just divide 60 by 4 to get the answer.

    60/4 = 15

    Now, 36 + 15 = 51, and 60 - 51 = 9

So 9 of the orders were for other items.

The working without this explanation should look like this:

    60 x 60 / 100 = 36

    60/4 = 15

    36 + 15 = 51

    60 - 51 = 9

    60 + 25 = 85%

    100 - 85 = 15%

    60 (0.15) = 9

The answer is 9 orders were for other items
