    V = 3 because you combine like terms which are combine the v's and get them by themselves. Add 2v to 4v and you get 6v so then subtract 8 from 26 and you get 18. So the equation will then be 6v=18. Divide both sides by six. V is left and so is 3. It would be v=3 as an end result!

    4v+8-8=26-8-2v--->Subtract 8 from both side.

    4v+2v=18-2v+2v---> Add 2v to both side.

    6v/6=18/6 - - - >Divide both side by 6.

    v=3---> Simplify.
