Without building a model, tell whether a long row of cubes or a cube made from 8 cubes would have a greater volume.

The cube made up of 8 cubes would have a greater amount of volume. We can infer this without doing any math because a row is neither tall or deep to allow for great volume while a cube made up of other cubes is deep allowing for a bigger volume than the row.
