    This is a simple equation that is easily solved.

    2x-4=6 You just have to isolate the variable, which is x, to get the solution.

    So what you can do, is to get rid of the - 4 to isolate the variable by adding 4 to the other side of the equation.

    2x-4 (+4) = 6+4

    2x=10

    Then you can isolate the variable by doing the opposite action it says to do, so division.

    x=5

    2x - 4 = 6

    2x = 6 + 4

    2x = 10

    x = 10 : 2

    x = 5
