For an individual living in a certain area, the probability of being struck by lightning over a lifetime is 1/17000. What is the probability that the person will not be struck by lightning in his/her lifetime?

    I think - I don't know if this is true, but subtract 1 from 17,000 and that will be the probability that the person will NOT be struck by lighting in his/her lifetime
