Can someone tell me how to do 2 (-3x-4) = 100. I don't have no clue how to do it.

    2 (-3x-4) = 100

    Use distributive property.

    2 (-3x-4) = 100

    2 * - 3x = - 6x

    2 * 4 = 8

    Simplify

    -6x-8=100

    Add 8 to both sides.

    -6x-8+8=100+8

    -6x=108

    Divide both sides by - 6.

    -6x/-6 = 108/-6

    x=-18
