When finding a median, when will you have to take the mean of two numbers?

    When there is two numbers in the middle

    When there are an even number of numbers in the data set. For example:

    2, 5, 8, 10, 20, 35

    Because their are six numbers in the data set, there are two numbers in the middle. so to find the median we'd have to find the mean of the two numbers.

    8+10/2=18/2=9
