Forgive me if I'm doing this wrong but, 225 times. 0475 = 10.68. The tax is 10.69. So, when tax doesn't need to be paid the customer saves $10.69.

In this question, there are several information's that has been provided and are of immense importance. Cost of a new CD player in North Carolina cost $225. The sales tax applied is 4.75%. The amount of savings during tax free period has to be calculated.

    Then

The amount of money that the customer will

    save during tax free period = 225 * (4.75/100)

    = 225 * 0.0475

    = 10.687
