In a bag there are 9 cards, one for each number from 1 to 9. Three cards will be drawn to make a 3-digit number. First, a card is drawn for the hundreds place and then put back in the bag. Then, a card is drawn for the tens place and put back in the bag. Lastly, a card is drawn for the ones place. How many different numbers can be drawn?

    Number of possible combinations = 9*9*9 = 729 answer
