    k = 1.33 or 1 1/3

    Formula of Direct variation. Where y is equal to the product of the constant of variation times x.

    y = kx

    16 = k * 12

    k = 16/12

    k = 1 4/12 = 1 1/3

    Constant of variation is 1 1/3 or 1.33.
