3/15 of Mike's fish are damselfish

    Step-by-step explanation:

The easiest way to solve this problem is to create a common denominator for the 2/5 and the 1/3.

    The common denominator for these two fractions is 15. (5 * 3 = 15)

    2/5 = 6/15 (multiply both the 2 and the 5 by 3 to get 6/15)

The problem then says that of the remaining fish, 1/3 of them are damselfish.

    If you subtract 6/15 from 15/15, you get 9/15. (15 - 6 = 9)

    1/3 of the remaining 9/15 fish is 3/15 fish. (1/3 of 9 = 9/3 = 3)

    So, 3/15 fish are damselfish.
