A gum ball machine contains orange, yellow, and purple gum balls. The probability of getting on orange gum ball is 3 over 4. The probability of getting a yellow gum ball is 1 over 6

If there are 36 gum balls in the machine how many are purple

    3 gum balls. 3/4 of 36 is 27, and 1/6 of 36 is 6.

    6 + 27 = 33

    36 - 33 = 3
