A puppy is on sale at a pet store for $432 , marked down 10 % from an original selling price of $480. If the markup from cost to sale price was $72 , what was the cost? Use pencil and paper. How would you solve the problem if you were not given the sale price?

    432 x 0.1 = 43.2

    432-43.2 = 388.8

    Mark up

    388.8 + 72 = 460.8
