We told Gavin not to run, but he did so anyway. He took 18 steps from second base, got

caught in a rundown, took 7 steps back, then took 3 steps forward, 5 steps back, 11 steps

forward, and was tagged out halfway between second and third base. How many steps is it

from second base to third base?

    40 steps from 2nd to 3rd base

    Step-by-step explanation:

    18 - 7 + 3 - 5 + 11 = 20, which is halfway, so double that to get to 3rd base.
