Miss Ferguson recorded 17 absences in her class during the first 30 days of school. During the last 60 days of school, she recorded 42 absences. Are the rates equivalent? Explain your reasoning.

    The rates are not equivalent because 60 is double of 30 the absences must be 17 times 2. But 17 times 2 is 34 so they cannot be equivalent.

    No because if you look at 30 & 60those are half-friends 30 is half of 60 so, look at 17 ... keepthat in your head ... 17 x 2 is 34 so 17 is NOT equevilent to 42.
