6x - 18 - x = 4 + 3x
combine like terms (6x, - x)
5x - 18 = 4 + 3x
5x - 3x - 18 = 4 + 3x - 3x
2x - 18 = 4
2x - 18 + 18 = 4 + 18
2x = 22
2x / 2 = 22 / 2
x = 11
