Determine the quotient of 1 3/4 divide by 2/5

First turn any mixed numbers into improper fractions. 1 3/4 would be 7/4. Becuase you multiply the whole number by the denominator and then add the numerator.
So now you have 7/4 divided by 2/5. Whenever you divide, you flip the 2nd fraction upside down ... known as the reciprocal. And after that you multiply the first number by the upside down 2nd number.
So now you have 7/4 X 5/2. When multiplying, just multiply the numerators across and the denominators across. As your answer, you get 35/8 or 4 3/8.
