    U have a geometric sequence with a common ratio of - 1/2. That means u can multiply the number by - 1/2 to get the next number.

    -16 * - 1/2 = 16/2 = 8

    8 * - 1/2 = - 8/2 = - 4

    -4 * - 1/2 = 4/2 = 2

    2 * - 1/2 = - 2/2 = - 1 <===

    -1 * - 1/2 = 1/2 <===
