Mrs. Roberts has a favorite recipe for 1 batch of snack mix.

The recipe is:

2 1/2 cups pretzels

2 1/2 cups dry cereal

2 1/4 peanuts

3/4 cup raisins

Part A : She estimates that each serving is 3/4 cups snack mix. How many batches of snack mix will she need in order to make 200 servings? Show and explain all of your steps.

    First add up all your ingredients 2 1/2+2 1/2 + 2 1/4 + 3/4 = 8 cups of snack mix this is how much you get in 1 batch. Now divide the 8 cups by 3/4 (8:3/4) to get 10 1/2. So in 1 batch you get 10 1/2 servings. To get 200 servings you need to make 20 batches with 1/4 left over (200 : 10 1/2). For Part B you multiply each ingredient by 20. Pretzels and Dry Cereal: 2 1/2 x 20 = 50 cups Peanuts:2 1/4 x 20 = 45 cups Raisins: 3/4 x 20 = 15 cups
