Your family has $745 for vacation. They spend 40% of the money on a hotel. They spend the remaining 1/3 on food. How much money does your family have left to spend on activities?

    If $745 is 100% of our money, then if we subtract the 40% hotel expenses, we still have 60% left. That's convenient, because 1/3 of 60% is 20%, leaving us 40% left to spend on activities. 0.4 * 745 = $298 left for activities.
