    You find the equation by traslating the verbal language to algebraic language. 1) 4 pieces of yarn each with length y = > 4y. 2) A piece 7.75 inches long = > add 7.75 to 4y = > 4y + 7.75. 3) Call the total length t = > t = 4y + 7.75. It is a continues function, given that y is a continues variable (it can take any real value). Then the answer is the option (d). t = 4y + 7.75; continuous.
