Write a system of equations, with 1 equation describing the cost to bowl at Bowl-O-Rama and the other describing the cost to bowl at Bowling Pinz. For each equation, let x represent the number of games and let y represent the total cost. Graph the system. What is the solution and what does it represent?

Bowl-O-Rama rents shoes for $2 and each game cost $2.50

Bowling Pinz rents shoes for $4 and each game cost $2

    Bowl-O-Rama:

    y = 2 + 2.50x

    Bowling Pinz:

    y = 4 + 2x

    When you graph this, the solution is (4, 12).

    This represents that when you play 4 games for either company, both the prices will be the same, $12.
