    Mechanical Energy is the sum total of potential and kinetic energy. Potential energy is possessed due to its position, whereas kinetic energy is possessed due to the movement of the object. We calculate the mechanical energy as follows:

    ME = KE + PE

    ME = 3 J + 25 J

    ME = 28 J
