    Let the number of quarters be 5x

    The, the number of dimes is 3x.

    (5x) / (3x) = 5/3 which is the given ratio of quarters to dimes

    5x + 3x = 120

    8x = 120

    x = 120/8 = 15

    The number of quarters is 15 * 5 = 75
