    25 percent. To solve more of these problems put the new price over the original price and you will get the cost of the new object in relation to the original cost. 300/400=.75 which means the new price 1.00-.75=.25 percent drop

    If you would like to know what was the percent decrease in price, you can calculate this using the following steps:

    x% of $400 is $300

    x% * 400 = 300

    x/100 * 400 = 300

    x * 4 = 300 / 4

    x = 300 / 4

    x = 75%

    100% - 75% = 25%

    The correct result would be 25%.
