Oliver is going to send some flowers to his wife. Fairfax Florist charges $1 per rose, plus $33 for the vase. Amy's Flowers, in contrast, charges $2 per rose and $21 for the vase. If Oliver orders the bouquet with a certain number of roses, the cost will be the same with either flower shop. How many roses would there be? What would the total cost be?

    12 flowers

    cost is $45

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Set up a system of equations and set them equal to each other.

    F = 33 + x

    A = 21 + 2x

    33 + x = 21 + 2x

    move numbers to one side and x's to the other side to solve for x = 12

    Put 12 back in each equation to get the cost.
