    Claudia's mass is 51 kg, therefore her weight is

    W = (51 kg) * (9.8 m/s) = 499.8 N

    The bungee cord extends by x = 5m due to the weight.

    By definition the spring constant for the bungee cord is

    k = W/x = (499.8 N) / (5 m) = 99.96 N/m

    Answer: The spring constant is 100 N/m (nearest tenth)
