If one object has a large redshift and another object has a small redshift, what can we conclude about these two objects?

a. The one with the large redshift is moving toward us faster than the one with the small redshift.

b. The one with the large redshift is moving away from us faster than the one with the small redshift.

c. The one with the large redshift is moving away from us, and the one with the small redshift is moving toward us.

    b. The one with the large redshift is moving away from us faster than the one with the small redshift.

    Explanation:

From Doppler effect, If object is moving away from the observer then the spectral lines will shift towards the red part and this is known as red shift. The wavelength of red light is more as compare to the wavelength of blue light. If object is moving towards the observer then the spectral lines will shift towards the blue part and this is known as blue shift.

If the object have red shift it means that it is moving away from us and if have large red shift as compare to the other then large red shift object is moving fast as compare to small red shift object.

    b. The one with the large redshift is moving away from us faster than the one with the small redshift.
