A student wanted to investigate whether or not the temperature of the water would affect the solubility of sugar. She had three glasses of water, each with 200mL of water in them. One was at 10 C, the second at 25 C and the third was at 40 C. She found that the warmer waters dissolved more sugar. What are the independent and dependent variables?

Dependent variable is how much sugar is dissolved because it depends on what the temperature of the water is and

Independent variable is the temperature of the water because you are in control of it.
