On Mars, where air resistance is negligible, an astronaut drops a rock from a cliff and notes that the rock falls about d meters during the first t seconds of its fall. Assuming the rock does not hit the ground first, how far will it fall during the first 4t seconds of its fall?

    I found the possible answers using deep research:

    a) 2d

    b) 4d

    c) 8d

    d) 16d

    Ok, so if distance = 1/2 a*t^2 I would look at the first sentence and calculate the acceleration on Mars which is d = (0.5) * a * (1) ^2

    a = 2*d meters/sec/sec

    The calculation in the first equation is: Distance = (0.5) * 2*d m/s/s * (4*t) ^2.

    So im guessing the answer basedon this information to be D.) 16d
