    The density of the liquid = 1448.78 kg/m³

    Explanation:

    Density: This can be defined as the ratio of mass of a body to the volume of that body. The S. I unit of density is kg/m³.

    From Archimedes principle

    R. d = weight in air/upthrust = density of aluminium/density of liquid

    W/U = D₁/D₂ ... Equation 1

    making D₂ the subject of the equation

    D₂ = D₁ (U) / W ... Equation 2

    Where W = Weight of aluminum in air, U = upthrust, D₁ = Density of aluminum, D₂ = Density of liquid

    Given: W = mg = 4.1*9.8 = 40.18 N, U = Lost in weight = 9.8 (4.1-1.9)

    U = 21.56 N, D₁ = 2.7 g/cm³ = 2700 kg/m³

    Substituting into equation 2

    D₂ = 2700 (21.56) / 40.18

    D₂ = 1448.78 kg/m³

    Thus the density of the liquid = 1448.78 kg/m³
