Two utility vehicles at a 90 degree angle to each other try to pull a third vehicle out of the snow. If one utility vehicle exerts a force of 600 Ib and the other exerts a force of 800 Ib, what is the resulting force on the vehicle stuck in the snow?

    Resultant force = F1cos (45) + F2cos (45)

    = 600 cos (45) + 800 cos (45)

    = 990 N
