    Kinetic energy is given by 1/2 MV²

    k. e = 1/2 mv²

    1.9 * 10^3 = 1/2m (v/2) ²

    1.9 * 10^3 = 1/8 mv²

    1.9 * 10^3 = 1/4 (1/2mv²)

    = (1.9 * 10^3) / 4

    = 4.75 * 10^2 joules

    The new kinetic energy will therefore be 4.7 * 10^2 joules.
